When you were a kid...
did you ever stare at pictures, art work, photographs, decoupage prints from the elizabethan era, organized in library format in the books of your parents awaiting the silent simulacra provided by a cheap black and white photocopier, the carbon copy coming out of "the other end" all warm and still wet with ink which, when you rubbed it with your thumb, left a powdery black residue? Did you look at the corny sci-fi clad adventurers of your childhood fantasies, on mother of pearl embossed trading cards or the covers of comic books? Did you peruse each dot of it's three color processing, parched A4 design and imagine what these "characters" must feel like? What kind of music would they be into? What would their individual soundtrack be like? Would these pre-raphaelite nymphs be accompanied by some baroque wankery, or some gnarly "Goldie-esque" drum n' bass? Would this Giger landscape, complete with skulls, cocks, lurid nether women and staring satanic scintilla feel wet and warm, or cold and plastic, like the skin of a snake? Would "Orbital" provide a fitting score for Li 1 or Li 2? Would the alien designs appreciate parliament funkadelic? I was that kind of weird kid, collecting a pallid ceiling tan under gray, pale English skies.
